Dr. Reddy’s was the first Indian company to fully develop a biosimilar in-house: Grafeel (generic Filgrastim, or GCSF) the product having been developed right from the molecular biology phase up to commercial manufacturing. In April 2007, we became the first company in the world to develop and launch a biosimilar monoclonal antibody: Reditux (generic Rituximab).
Our biogeneric product pipeline comprises several recombinant proteins, both from mammalian cells as well as E.coli, that are in various phases of development. Dr. Reddy’s believes that the biologics business has tremendous upside potential. Our commitment to the business is reiterated by the substantial investments we have made to develop world-class infrastructure and domain expertise. Our Biologics Development Center spans an area of 36,000 sq. ft.. with development and manufacturing suites for both E. coli & mammalian cell culture and caters to the highest development standards (cGMP, GLP and applicable bio-safety levels).
