| Dr. Reddy’s began as an API manufacturer in 1984, producing high-quality APIs to first the Indian, and later, the international markets. In 1987, we began our formulations operations and, after becoming a force to reckon with in the Indian formulations market, went international in 1991, when we began exporting our formulation Ciprolet (Ciprofloxacin 250 mg tablets) to Russia.
Today, besides having built a strong presence in the regulated markets with our off-patent formulations, we are also among the top formulations players in a number of near-regulated markets as well. We have established ourselves as the one of the top six formulations players in India, and as the eighth-largest formulations retailer in Russia.
Entrepreneurship, coupled with the zeal to make a difference drives our 2,000-strong field force to reach out to over 210,000 doctors and 115,000 pharmacies in over 40 countries through two wholly owned subsidiaries, three joint-ventures, 16 representative offices and 21 third-party distribution set-ups. Our product portfolio of over 100 formulations across the cardiovascular, metabolic, pain management, gastro-intestinal, oncology and dermatology therapeutic areas allows us to make a difference to almost 70% of the world’s population. |
