Dr. Reddy’s Discovery Research efforts focus on the therapeutic areas of metabolism, cardiovascular, inflammation, anti-infective, and oncology. With over 350 discovery research scientists, 5 compounds in clinical development, and 4 in pre-clinical development, Dr. Reddy’s continually explores licensing (in/out) and co-development opportunities. These partnerships may be with multinational pharmaceutical companies, emerging pharmaceutical companies, and university technology offices, all entities that Dr. Reddy’s has the experience of working with.
To address unmet medical needs, Dr. Reddy’s is applying unique formulation R&D expertise, proprietary drug delivery technologies, and other incremental innovation techniques to improve safety, efficacy, and convenience profiles of existing drugs. The company is also exploring various 2nd generation variant biologics opportunities. Target therapeutic areas for these activities include oncology and dermatology, with flexibility to explore other specialty areas as well.
With a product development team that includes an R&D team of 650, regulatory team of 55, IP team of 50, and quality team of 450, Dr. Reddy’s has developed an industry-ranked pipeline of branded generic and generic formulations. This pipeline includes 35 marketed ANDAs in the US (with an additional 68 pending FDA approval), portfolio of over 150 products in Europe (primarily Germany and UK), and over 100 marketed branded formulations in Rest of World markets. Partnering models include in-licensing for continued development and commercialization in key markets, product co-development, solid oral and alternate non-solid oral dosage forms, IP licensing, and other strategic shared risk/reward arrangements.
Dr. Reddy's has an industry-leading API portfolio that is leveraged by a significant global presence. The company seeks further opportunities to in-license APIs, technologies for manufacture of novel APIs, and intermediates. Partnering models may include joint development, manufacturing collaborations, marketing arrangements, technology/IP licenses, amongst others.
