Ciprofloxacin was the reason for our success and heavy profits in the early 90s. There was no competition. I was selling it at Rs. 3600 a kilo. This was the first golden age of Dr. Reddy’s and that was what catapulted us into being a blue chip company in the market.

Exports Norfloxacin and Ciprofloxacin to Europe and Far East for the first time in India

Dr. Reddy’s becomes the first Indian pharma company to exports Norfloxacin and Ciprofloxacin to Europe and Far East.

Cheminor drugs goes public. It becomes the first Indian company to introduce Diltiazem and Famotidine in the Indian markets. Murali Divi resigns and GV Prasad takes over as the Managing Director of Cheminor drugs.
