Conducts its first overseas acquisition – BMS Laboratories Limited and Meridian Healthcare in UK

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Limited acquires BMS Laboratories Limited and Meridian Healthcare (UK) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BMS Laboratories. This is Dr Reddy's' first overseas acquisition. The acquisition is valued at Great Britain Pound (GBP) 9.05 million.

The BMS Group is engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of generic pharmaceutical products in the United Kingdom (UK). BMS and Meridian have fully-integrated manufacturing facilities for oral solids, liquids and packaging located in London and Beverley, UK.

Dr. Reddy’s new Technology Development Centre (TDC) becomes operational. The 10,000 sft centre of excellence for chemistry process development is inaugurated by Bharat Ratna, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 6th May 2002.
