Foundation stone is laid for a finished dosages facility at Bachupally, Hyderabad

As part of the company’s plans to expand its generic business and enter highly regulated markets like the US, Dr. Reddy’s starts construction of a finished dosages facility at Bachupally, Hyderabad. The construction of the plant is completed in 1996.

Dr. Reddy’s offers 35, 84, 230 Global Depository Receipts (GDR) representing 35, 84, 230 equity shares at an issue price of USD 11.16 per GDR and raises USD 48 million through the issue.

The same year, for the first time a cargo aircraft, IL 76 of Uzbekistan Airways is chartered for export from Hyderabad. Dr. Reddy’s airlifts the full plane load of 135 cubic meters of life saving medicines weighing 18,000 kgs; the export value of which is valued at US $ 1.25 million.
